We left Brisbane and travelled via Auckland (cheap tix on Air NZ, of course). A short flight to Auckland was great with a 4.5 hour layover. Not a problem until the 4 hours was delayed until 5, 6, 7……we were supposed to leave before 10pm but didn’t get out of NZ until after 1am. Thanks Kiwis!! The kids were stoked with all the waiting as you can imagine. The airline brought out some lollies for the kids to add some sugar to their over-tiredness!
Fortunately, Gretel is a genius and had brought new lego kits and activity/sticker books for the kids to keep them occupied. Good work, Grets!! Interestingly Gretel is the one who was picked twice for the drugs test at the airport. Finally we got away and landed in LA at about 7pm. 25 hours after leaving Brisbane we made it!!!
We were so excited we jumped into our hire car and headed to Jack in the Box for dinner! In true USA style we bought some smores pop tarts for dessert!!
And so 25 hours after leaving Brisbane we finally arrived in Inglewood (near LAX)!!
